Some things I learned from this reading:
- What is a collaboration and the different collaboration types (such as collaborations from H&M with different luxury brands, etc)
- I remembered how to write a press release
- Read about the celebrity role in fashion promotion
- and learned more about the fashion magazine (Which is the theme that I would like to work in my portfolio)
- The AIDA model (A – to attract Attention/raise awareness; I – to simulate Interest; D – to generate Desire; A – to prompt the consumer to take Action)
- Learned the different stages of planning to promote a fashion brand or product
After I finished reading this book I had a lecture with Tiho Kostadinov from Northskull(about sales & Marketing) and I really enjoyed it. He talked about what I read in the book, about the collaborations with designer/luxury brands, about social media and about the the importance of a brand being present EVERYWHERE.
He also talked about how things changed and how the front row in fashion shows is occupied by bloggers, celebrities and influencers nowadays instead of only editors.
I also learned a little more about fast fashion and the "see now, buy now" system.
Tiho also mentioned some personalized tools for brands:
"Chat bods" , " Manychat" and "Fuel chat".
I came home and started working on my Professional Practice: Now I know for sure that I want to talk about Word of Mouth Marketing.
Article I read today: "Effects of brand love, personality and image on word of mouthThe case of fashion brands among young consumers" - Ahmed Rageh Ismail and Gabriella Spinelli
